I started this company in May 2026 after speaking with new and amateur authors I knew who were seriously contemplating the idea of publishing their work but were overwhelmed by the options. Either self-publishing was too daunting a task, or larger, conventional publishers refused to accept their submissions.

Long Story Short Press is designed for authors by someone deeply connected with the amateur writing scene. I got my start on the internet with writing communities focused on different genres, mainly horror, my personal sweet spot. After speaking with many other amateurs, I realized a lot of people wish to publish their own novel, but were always worried that it wouldn’t work out. I thought this was crazy because some of the best authors I’ve ever read are non-published internet writers who are in it simply for the love of the game.

That’s what Long Story Short Press is really about. To help those authors and storytellers who are so close to taking that next step but just need someone to believe in them. All while publishing for free!
