I started this company in May 2026 when I began exploring the idea of publishing my own work. The sheer number of options was overwhelming, and while self-publishing initially seemed appealing, I quickly realized the entire burden fell on me as the author. This meant spending less time writing my next story and more time promoting my book. I struggled to find a real solution. So I made one.

Long Story Short Press is designed for authors by an author. I got my start on the internet with writing communities focused on different genres, mainly horror, my personal sweet spot. After speaking with many other amateurs, I realized a lot of people wish to publish their own novel, but were always worried that it wouldn’t work out. I thought this was crazy because some of the best authors I’ve ever read are non-published internet authors who are in it simply for the love of the game.

That’s what Long Story Short Press is really about. To help those authors and storytellers who are so close to taking that next step but just need someone to believe in them. All while publishing for free!
